BTW, God & his cronies are total Socialists. Just sayin’

When you reap the harvest of your land, you shall not reap your field right up to its edge, neither shall you gather the gleanings after your harvest. And you shall not strip your vineyard bare, neither shall you gather the fallen grapes of your vineyard. You shall leave them for the poor and for the sojourner: I am the Lord your God.

-Leviticus 19:9-10

Hey rich farmers, leave some of your bounty for poor people and travelers. RE-DISTRIBUTE YOUR WEALTH that is!

Let the thief no longer steal, but rather let him labor, doing honest work with his own hands, so that he may have something to share with anyone in need.

-Ephesians 4:28

Oh snap! Let’s rehabilitate criminals to make them functioning members of society!

He said also to the man who had invited him, “When you give a dinner or a banquet, do not invite your friends or your brothers or your relatives or rich neighbors, lest they also invite you in return and you be repaid. But when you give a feast, invite the poor, the crippled, the lame, the blind, and you will be blessed, because they cannot repay you. For you will be repaid at the resurrection of the just.”

-Luke 14:12-14

Do thinks for the heck of it, and not just for the sake of reciprocity! What? Generosity for the sake of generosity?

Whoever oppresses the poor to increase his own wealth, or gives to the rich, will only come to poverty.

-Proverbs 22:16

Whoever has a bountiful eye will be blessed, for he shares his bread with the poor.

-Proverbs 22:9

Jesus said to him, “If you would be perfect, go, sell what you possess and give to the poor, and you will have treasure in heaven; and come, follow me.”

-Matthew 19:21

Whoever oppresses a poor man insults his Maker, but he who is generous to the needy honors him.

-Proverbs 14:31

Check it out: oppressing a poor man isn’t just mean, it’s INSULTING YOUR MAKER! How about that?
